Shoot london

I met up with some old school friends this weekend, to have a go at a Shoot London Event at Tate modern. Each team was given four phrases to represent in a photo. Then after a looooooong wait, they were stitched together to make a modern day Hansel and Gretel story. These are some of our photos and some of my favorites. We all got together to spell the final frame.

little soft baby elephant

I got my first postcrossing card today! Its come all the way from Lithuania. I’m touched and amazed that so much care has been put into something made for me by a complete stranger. The hand painted card features, and i quote “one little soft baby elephant in the infinite meadow of spring. It has presents for you in it’s trunk”.
That sort of thing would make anybodies day!

#tweeterhunt

This weeks breakfast had the theme of spies, dead letter boxes and the modern equivalents, such as treasure hunts or geocaching. Well, we thought, we love stuff that joins together our offline and online lives – like Postcrossing and Bookcrossing.

So, we invented the Tweeterhunt, and left friendly messages through soho.

If you find one,
- Tweet the names on the card
- Add Your name to the card (ie @moodshine)
- Hide the card somewhere new

(p.s. if you want to fine one, soho square is a good place to start…)

Kewl. I mean… quil. Or something.

Today i want to sing the praises of illustrator / designer Yulia Brodskaya and her amazingly detailed papercraft. Did you see this cover of G2 just before Christmas? It really caught my attention.

Quilling is the art of paper curling. Long thin strips of paper are curled around what is essentially a round stick. Obviously, most of the stuff out there is all flowers and bonnets, so i love that Yulia has made it look so contemporary. Want to give it a try? Get involved.
